LEADING CHANGE

Leading Change is how CLL builds power within Washington’s Latino communities through our five core pillars: Events, Advocacy, Outreach, Workshops, and Navigation. From hosting statewide networking events and community health fairs to leading farmworker advocacy in Olympia, we support Latino leaders at every level. Through Promotora-led outreach, interactive webinars, and personalized navigation services, we equip individuals to engage in civic leadership, access health resources, and drive meaningful change in their communities.

Events

We support and host events across Washington, including targeted networking gatherings that bring together Latino business owners, community leaders, and local partners. These events create spaces for meaningful exchange, problem-solving, and collaboration. Attendees build connections that help them find practical solutions, expand their reach, and strengthen their businesses. By fostering relationships and building trust, these events continue to strengthen long-term community resilience and leadership.

Advocacy

We coordinate a Farmworker Roundtable in Olympia, where farmworkers speak directly with legislators about the issues impacting their lives. In addition, our team supports individual legislative meetings by coordinating schedules, providing translation, and guiding the process, while farmworkers lead the conversations. We also help hundreds of farmworkers communicate with legislators, ensuring their voices are heard at the policy level.

Outreach

Our team participates in and hosts community health events across Washington State, primarily in Yakima and Benton Counties. During these events, Promotoras (community health workers) conduct basic health screenings, distribute prenatal and multivitamins, and connect participants with follow-up care. This outreach builds trust and raises awareness of available health resources in underserved areas.

Workshops

We host and support educational webinars across the state to build knowledge, awareness, and leadership within the Latino community. These events equip participants with tools to navigate challenges, advocate for themselves and others, and engage more effectively with local systems, strengthening the development of public health and community leaders.

Navigation

Our team works one-on-one with individuals to build confidence and skills in self-advocacy. We guide clients through scheduling health appointments, understanding services, and navigating systems that often feel inaccessible due to language or cultural barriers. When needed, we provide interpretation and support, always with the goal of empowering clients to take the lead in their own care.
